I trimmed out a minute from this clip. It was hard to inter-cut the interviews because I think they have a pretty logical flow.

I took out Emily's part here, but I didn't move the trips part to "Inside School Walls" because that clip is already 5:30. Also, I feel like it works much better in this new version. Yes, it might fit better in the other clip in terms of subject matter, but it doesn't seem out of place here.

If we decide to put it in "Inside" then we'll have to chop that one down a bit and I think it's pretty strong as is.

I put the crack-house story at the front of the clip. While I agree that it works better here, I'm worried that the overall flow of the clip has been upset. The transition to Emily Rodriguez now seems abrupt to me. In truth, I'm not sure that you need her whole bit about the lack of family involvement. Maybe go:
1. story
2. VC and MC on being a public service school
3. OMIT ER
4. Everyone about school trips.

I think this is a good edit. I used a clip from Shannon from the introductory interview, but I think it's seamless. Makes this clip have a better range of voices and what she says is great.

I made all of Marla's changes and broke up quotes throughout. I'm not sure that I think Marina's "success is achieving your goals" should be right there in the beginning, but I think the other changes help this clip. All student mentions of success (or ideas suggesting success) are included in the clip.
