Cardozo "Problems" v1

First rough cut for the Cardozo case video that asks the question, "What are the essential problems we're facing?"

Regarding the "problems" clip:

I like the way the text question looks. I wonder if adding a little more contrast between the fonts/sizes will help highlight the key word here?

I like the use of student comments. Maybe we should begin the clip with Michelle describing how she became truent, then move to Ryan's comments in which he says he wasn't focused, then move to science teacher struggling to teach earth science to city kids.

From the earth science lesson, it might work to begin with a shot of the blackboard showing the objectives of the lesson (definitions of weathering and erosion), then move to teacher posing questions and getting few accurate responses. He made good use of visuals, so including him crushing the chalk and blowing it away, mixing the sugar, and drawing on the board will show the many approaches he takes to presenting these concepts. Including responses from students that illustrate their lack of experience in natural environments (attributing cracks in asphault to human activity like putting salt on the roads, for example) could work.

I don't think the bit where the history teacher asks about gunshots works since there's no broll showing a large number of students raising their hands. Not sure if just his question could stand alone (omitting references to dictators as well)?

Resequence remaining items as you see fit. Maybe use Cahty's (student) comments after Shiela's at the end "I wasn't exactly doing as dood as I should...and try to act like nothing's happening" (omit her reference to the Growth Program at the beginning of this quote).

Thanks!
